Initial Consultation

This is a free of charge, 20 min phone call where the client’s questions are answered to the best of my ability. I also will have some questions of my own related to self-identity, desire for change, and the motivation to pursue somatic work. The purpose of this meeting is to begin to establish a therapeutic relationship, and for both of us to get a sense of whether or not this feels like a good fit.

First session

This is our first telehealth meeting. We will discuss the intake form that the client typically completes in advance, and establish an idea of what the future of our relationship will look like. During this session, the client’s history of ancestral, birth, developmental, and shock trauma will be discussed in regards to their goals for treatment.

session plan

The goal of this relationship is to support the client's growth and ability to reach their desired goals. Our work together will require discussion of the client’s trauma history, however it does not require repetition of the story. A single session can incorporate body-centered talk therapy, somatic experiencing exercises, and healing self-touch work. Healing touch as taught by Steve Terrell is informed by somatic experiencing, polyvagal theory, cranio-sacral therapy, occupational and physical therapy. At this time I my sessions are all via telehealth so if appropriate I will guide a client on how to use healing self-touch.
